So my family and I went to the French Press just this last friday, again, and it seem that every time we go something is wrong. So, we walk in and stood at the register to order. While one employee makes coffee, another working the drive through, an other trying to expedite food but can’t seem to find where it goes, the other cooking, and finally one braking down boxes. Now we are within view and earshot of all employees and we did make eye contact with all. Now here is were the irritation set in. Understandable that drive through and coffee maker girls were busy “TCB” but, all the others simply never said a word to us. We stood there looking at them waiting for service or even a “hello,” but it never came. The cook ignored us, the expediter looked and walked by us four times with nothing but a nod, and the girl braking down boxes looked our way many times so I know she knew we were there but, she continued with her box duty. It wasn’t until two other people walked in that she came to the register to take our order. TWO MINUTES OF BEING IGNORED! I have worked in that industry and understand it very well but, that much time would piss anyone off. We have been in there three other times previously and small thing are off that really should not be. there is rarely silverware and the west entrance and not asked what ingredients you want if you forget or miss one. Just little things like that. I really feel that they are in desperate need of a leader that pushes for excellence and communication not only between employees but, with there customers as well. Just not a good experience there for some reason and I really can’t see how businesses survive running a place like that.

What happened to the CUTE little desserts they used to have???? I loved going there after dinner to have a cup of coffee and a little tart or cheesecake, sit by the fire and visit with friends.
Too bad they went FAKE like everyone else.

Well, I went to the place on Friday morning and these are my thoughts. First, they put the grinder for the coffee too close to the register and it makes it impossible for the person taking your order to hear you and it also is so loud that the thing hurt my ears. The interior is very nice, brown tiles with gold inlay pieces and a maple wood. Works well together, but it is all hard so the noise just bounces around. There is not enough seating and what there is is too close together.

The crepes were too doughy and not light enough for my taste. I ordered the hazelnut chocolate which is a simple crepe with nutella and it came with hersheys syrup drizzled on top which ruined the taste of the hazelnut. The coffee was good.

I hope both places are at least decent creperies.

What happened to the gelato place on state st? It had good gelato! It was a shame to see it go.

If it's anything like the crepes we had in San Fran, good golly I can't wait!! That was the best chocolate crepe I've ever had. It was a regular crepe filled with milk chocolate and topped with strawberries and whipped cream. pure heaven!! So if french press is reading this, make sure to have a chocolate crepe on the menu ;)
