I've always thought it was funny that we celebrate our country by buying millions of dollars worth of fireworks from China. Shouldn't we celebrate with some products made in the USA?

OOOOOH! Well that's ok that they're banned here since I don't like those louder than normal crazy ones.

I remember back in the day finding out that a piccolo pete (don't know what they're called nowadays) was actually 1/8th of a stick of dynamite. That freaked me out to no end. Dynamite was what Bugs Bunny and Wyle E. Coyote used and I saw the damage they caused!

Then my brother would buy them and scare me!

Let me clarify; Washington sells certain types of fireworks that are illegal to sell in Oregon. Oregon has legal fireworks but they are more restrictive than Washington. I got this bit of info from the katu.com website.

OREGON

From the Oregon State Fire Marshal:

* Legal fireworks produce only smoke, sparks or fire. Examples are base fountains, cone fountains, wheels and ground bloom flowers.
* Illegal fireworks explode, eject balls of fire, fly into the air or travel more than six feet on the ground or 12 inches into the air. Examples are missile rockets, aerial spinners, mortars, bottle rockets, firecrackers and roman candles. M80s, M100s and cherry bombs are considered explosive devices (not fireworks) and are illegal as well.

Also, be aware that fireworks are prohibited on all beaches and at all state parks in Oregon.

WASHINGTON

From the Office of the State Fire Marshal:

* Legal fireworks include sparklers, cylindrical fountains, cone fountains, illuminating torches, wheels, ground spinners, flitter sparklers, mines/shells, smoke devices, helicopter aerial spinners and roman candles.
* Illegal explosive devices include M80s and any improvised, homemade or altered explosive device, such as tennis balls or cherry bombs.

It sounds like that youtube member lives in Washington state and I see there's another Illahee in Kitsap County.
Someone enjoyed a BIG LOUD fireworks show last night. Maybe Independence??
N will be playing at the 4th of July celebration in Lebanon. You can't get more (in a wonderful way) small town than having a community band, set-up on a semi-trailer stage, play down the sun before the big fireworks show.
