If you want pizza that is comparable and a touch better than drive to stayton and try Apizza. We had...My wife and I recently tried Christo's. We had been wanting to try them, so we stop by about 45 minutes before closing. We ordered a pie to go after being ignored by the staff for 15 minutes.<br />We were shocked by how rude the staff were and we both became very frustrated. I am a small business owner and am posting this primarily for the owners. I certainly wasn't expecting Spago's service but the window at Mcdonalds is more friendly and polite. In conclusion we got home very angry about the service and broke into the pizza. After all that frustration I have to agree we both thought the pizza was exceptional, maybe the best we have had. We had decided to never go back now we are torn because the pizza was so good. Maybe we will call in order ahead so we dont have to deal with the staff?<br /><br />Great pizza! Did they move or is it another location they opened? <br /><br />Unfortunately I have never eaten at Christo's before - but plan on trying it out soon. I liked some of Paddington's pizza so far. Have not tried SFNY either yet, because it's out of my way for lunch and I don't live in Salem either, so I'd come and try it over the weekend. <br /><br />One thing I noticed though reading through the comments: With pizza it's with most everything pertaining the pallet - it's a lot of personal preference. Personally I have never eaten anything better than in a small town pizzeria in Italy from a woodfired oven, fresh local ingredients and usual the standard classic margharita (tomato, basil, cheese) is usually the best. I'm no fan of deep dish or thick crust pizza. To me the crust makes a pizza and the toppings are just "accessories" and shouldn't be overwhelming. The furniture - most of it - was made by Michael, the owner. Pizza is fantastic, music is great. They are opening another store at Market and Broadway in a couple of weeks. The wait staff was a little overwhelmed. They didn't seem to be as organized as they could have been for a Saturday night. I like it the most for the atomosphere. You can actually enjoy hanging out and having wine or a glass of beer, or two. Really, the best spot in town for a date night.<BR/><BR/>The pizza is very good.
