Cascade Baking Co.- Cherry Heart Puffs, Chocolate-Raspberry Turnovers, and heart shaped Sugar Cookies will be available for Valentine's Day. The puffs and turnovers are made with our in-house puff pastry. Cherry Heart Puffs are heart shaped with cherries in the center. Tops are sprinkled with powdered sugar. Willamette Sternwheeler- planning Valentine weekend of events. Romantic dinners will be served for Saturday Night, a Sunday Brunch for those who wish to take a daylight cruise, and of course, dinner on Tuesday, the 14th, where we will be entertained by the enchanting David Hastings at the piano. Our prices are $48.00 for dinner or brunch. We will introduce some new menu items, we will have more gluten free pasta and bread, and desserts. We get more requests for vegetarian items, so we will put those on all our menus as well. I don't find it super helpful to leave up the restaurant specials from previous year's Valentine's days. I think it would be better to start from scratch with just the updated list. I didnt read the part about the asterisk line, and excitedly opened up the menu for La Capitale's Valentine's day dinner. I didn't realize it was from 2011 until I began recognizing some of the dishes.
ReplyDeleteThis happened to me with the Christmas/New Year's post as well. I expected La Capitale to be open on Christmas Eve as stated here, but when I spoke with the owner he said they had been the year before but would not be for 2011's Christmas Eve. He said eatsalem tends to post information without speaking with staff at the restaurant to confirm.
This blog does an awesome job, but maybe previous year's info can be left off these posts to avoid confusion. I do need to read more carefully, that's for sure :)
Gardner House needs to buy a 2012 calendar :-)
